Now let me write my little tribute to my friend Mava Black and her family on the passing of her brother http://www.myvision.org.uk. I can understand how my friend is feeling at this time after losing him in similar fashion to that of her sister Gracie who died in McDonald’s in Savanna-la-Mar years ago.
Although we are far away across the Pond from each other, our friendship goes back to the time when I arrived in the UK. She was working in the Cafeteria and I as a Cleaner at the MAFF https://www.gov.uk at St John’s Smith Square.
I was a witness at her wedding and Mava being herself has to do it twice. Visiting her family at Orange Hill/Bay I was to learn of the relationship of the Manning’s School connections.
On behalf of my family I extend our condolences to the BLACK Family. Mava sister was there when my cousin Affected by Cancer like Janet Beeput & Family & Friends Group www.ancestrydna.co.uk needed the support of those she knew.
Just saying to all concerned that through your celebrate the life of your loved ones. Father Alone Knows About It… Father Alone Understand Why…
Now I take my leave from Cyberspace and focus on myself and my husband. We have each other to be thankful for.

Today, Tuesday, November 26, 2019 is exactly 20 years since Generation 2000 (G2K) was first exposed to Jamaica. It was the soft Launch of Generation 2000.
The occasion was a Youth Conference hosted by then Youth Leadership Council which was a Youth Section of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP). Incidentally, I was President of the Youth Leaders Council.
It was the only time the Jamaica Labour Party had 3 days of Conference: Friday, November 26, 1999 The Youth Conference at the Jamaica Conference Centre, Saturday, November 27, 1999 the Private Session at the National Arena and Sunday, November 28, 1999, the Public Session at the National Arena.
Young Jamaica, and, for the first time, Generation 2000 were there. A number of youngsters including Myself, James Robertson, Nigel Clarke, Vindell Kerr and Robert “Bobby” Montague spoke about the purpose of the G2K.
At the time there was a lot of talk of “Y2K.” Y2K is actually a good name which meant Year 2000, so the name G2K was somewhat influenced by that because of its youthful sound, and so we came up with the name G2K meaning Generation 2000.

Monday November 28, 2016 needs to be a day to be remembered. It needs to be a day where Westmoreland will start their journey to prosperity. Too long our divisions have suffered, too long our parish has suffered and yet we continue to put our fate into the same hands. It was the soft Launch of Generation 2000.The occasion was a Youth Conference hosted by then Youth Leadership Council which was a Youth Section of the www.jamaicalabourparty.com (JLP). Incidentally, I was President of the Youth Leaders Council. It was the only time the Jamaica Labour Party had 3 days of Conference: Friday, November 26, 1999 The Youth Conference at the Jamaica Conference Centre, Saturday, November 27, 1999 the Private Session at the National Arena and Sunday, November 28, 1999, the Public Session at the National Arena. Young Jamaica, and, for the first time, Generation 2000 were there. A number of youngsters including Myself, James Robertson, Nigel Clarke, Vindell Kerr and Robert “Bobby” Montague spoke about the purpose of the G2K. At the time there was a lot of talk of “Y2K.” Y2K is actually a good name which meant Year 2000, so the name G2K was somewhat influenced by that because of its youthful sound, and so we came up with the name G2K meaning Generation 2000. Got up this morning to the sad news about the death of that Australian Cricketer! Accidents like this can never be avoided & I feel for everyone involved in this sad situation! But more so for the bowler of that faithful ball that was to cause so much devastations? We see today, we don’t know what tomorrow will bring? May his soul RIP!
