Dear Mervelee,A few weeks ago, we welcomed current and alumni members of our Cancer Insights Panels and Inclusion in Involvement Steering group to Barts Cancer Institute for our annual hybrid social event. It was great to welcome over 40 members and celebrate the impact theyโve had across the work of Cancer Research UK through this reward and recognition event. Weโve received some fantastic feedback and are looking forward to next years event already. Read more about it below. Also, this week, we have an update on a project promoted earlier in the year, about the role of unpaid carers. This was an informative workshop and helped us to understand how they support those they care for to access health information. Thanks for your continued support in our work. Best wishes, Jozie on behalf of the Patient Involvement TeamVisit our opportunities page to see the latest ways to get involved |

Spotlight on JESSICA LUONG – Choreographer for THE MOUTH OF THE GODS and co-founder of Baila Peru

Dance Workshops: Movement, Healing and Collective Expression in THE MOUTH OF THE GODSOver the past few months, the choreography and dance elements of THE MOUTH OF THE GODS have been evolving in profound ways. Each week, our choreographers and members of the Latin American community come together for rehearsals. Given that all participants share a Latin American heritage, the workshops offer a unique platform to explore and discuss challenging themes, such as the continuing impact of colonialism on Indigenous communities. This open dialogue, combined with the expressive power of dance, has allowed participants to connect with their histories, their bodies, and one another. In many non-Western cultures, dance remains a vital tradition used for healing, especially to alleviate psychological distress. Indigenous cultures have long embraced dance rituals as a key part of their societies. Dance plays an integral role in socialisation, expression, and community cohesion, contributing to the overall well-being of society. In THE MOUTH OF THE GODS we approach dance as an holistic practice โ one that connects body and mind, community and spirituality, and unlocks profound healing potential. We canโt wait to welcome you to our shared stage at Hoxton Hall to experience this moving journey. Join us for our performance that promises to be as transformative for the audience as it has been for the dancers.Get Your Tickets Today!Click the link via the button below to get your tickets now.
