MM Response: Santander must not get away with this flimsy excuse after the measures I have been using to correct the DISCRIMINATION against Mervelee Myers and Arnold Tomlinson, dating back years. Santander must be held accountable for the years of ELDER ABUSE and trying to cause the DEATH of my husband since he turned 100 years old to get his MONEY. The following is an example of Santander’s NEGLIGENCE and proof of Santander’s intention to STEAL my husband’s money by sending him to his grave before God is ready for him.

My name is Mervelee Myers
Address: 16 Alma Grove, Bermondsey, London SE1 5PY.
Telephone: 07950618083.
I am the wife of Arnold Ebenezer Tomlinson 100 years old. We are victims of Banks and Building Societies dating back to 2004 when I begged the South London Press to publish my story. Despite reaching out to the media to get our stories told we are left struggling. I am using social media, but I could benefit from support like yours as I am being made a voiceless vulnerable victim of the system trying to cover up the miscarriage of justice.
The following is the latest in how Santander made us victims.
Good evening, Mrs Myers,
As we spoke earlier on today, please see below your crime report number regarding your incident on 19th October 2023:
CRIS 3034363/23
Please do let me know if you have any new information.
Kind regards.

Dates for Santander to Note
1. Thursday 19th October 2023: Why did Santander wait to send me email about Adding my name to husband’s account? Refer to the length of time he was kept standing at the counter. I recorded and need to upload to Social Media
2. Tuesday 17th October 2023: Refer to what happened at Santander. Can be seen on Social Media.
3. Monday 16th October 2023 went to collect husband’s Medication. Went to Santander to make enquiries about not hearing from Santander. I was given a number to call by the person who is on the recording on the 17/10/2023 telling me to keep my voice down.
4. Wednesday 11th October 2023 called Santander on behalf of my husband about not hearing about my name to be added to the Account. This was recorded LIVE on Social Media.
Mr. Arnold Tomlinson decision to Add Mervelee Myers to his Account
My husband made the decision to take me to Santander to add my name to his account when I went to collect his medication.
Chronic Anxiety – Demonstration in Peckham
I made sure I carried all relevant documents with us to Santander. We were told that the matter could not be dealt with in the bank. We had to take the FORM home, filled it out and returned it.
I returned the next day and was told my husband have to be with me for the transaction to be completed. The same person (White) who issued the form was rude and disrespectful because I wanted to know why she did not explain the procedures properly. She was joined by a (Black) colleague who was also rude and disrespectful.
I was eventually spoken to by an (Asian Male) who was even more disrespectful. He took the form and my Passport and was away for what I considered a long period.
Next day I take my husband into the bank to get the matter sorted. I was told that I would hear from Santander within 7 working days.
When I did not hear from Santander, I bring it to my husband’s attention, and he said I should wait. I decided to go in when next I collected the Medication.
The outcome is captured on LIVE. The person put in a COMPLAINT saying I would be contacted within 24 hours. No one contacted me until Santander sent me email on Thursday 19th October 2023 after the incident outside the branch in Peckham. In my humble opinion I think this is bordering on SLOW DEATH by TORTURE for Santander to take my husband’s MONEY.
Mervelee Myers’ Arguments of DEATH by SLOW TORTURE.
Please refer to my letter/email to www.leyf.org.uk. On the Eve of Mothering Sunday 2015 and how I was pushed over the edge and made a CRIMINAL needing ERT to cover for LEYF and UEL Richard Harty MIC Abusers. What happened on Christmas Eve 2021 with www.hfw.org.uk and labelled a VIOLENT NUISANCE despite applying a “Defensive Practice”.
Additional Information About SANTANDER
1. Santander colluded with Nationwide to allow the Blac Awards to SCAM me of £10,000.00 that was transferred from my Nationwide Account in 2 payments to Santander Bank Account Number: 38776960. Sort Code 09-01-29. The Financial Ombudsman Service and Action Fraud failed me.
2. My husband became a target of Santander after he was given old fifty-pound notes (£50.00). Luckily, we went into the Meat Shop and was told. We took the money back to the bank and they changed it. When we got home my husband told me he has old money in the house. If we had not gone to the Meat Shop, he would not realise he had to change out the money. We take the money to the bank next day to be deposited.
3. On 28 December 2022 Santander sent a letter to Mr. Tomlinson. I filled out the letter as best I could with the information my husband provided me with. We take the FORM to Santander on our next visit. But the TERRORISM of my husband left me upset, so I stayed outside and recorded and this was viewed 5.5K times. My husband was so upset he told me to throw the FORM in the bin. I told him I have to take the form home. I still have the form
4. After that Santander sent another letter to my husband. Despite asking my stepson to work with me to safeguard his father. He decided to side with Santander because he turned the TOMLINSON Family against me for using his father’s money to celebrate his 100th birthday.
5. As a result of Santander openly targeting my husband by putting restrictions on my husband’s account, I prepared some documents as EVIDENCE.
The Following Handwritten Documents are EVIDENCE.
The documents were prepared on 14.02.2023.
Raising Complaint
I previously raised a complaint to Santander, but this was not dismissed. What Santander is doing to my husband is nothing short of TERRORISM.
The fact that Barclays did it to me twice proves that banks are targeting the vulnerable.
The fact that I seek advice from Nationwide Building Society before transferring some money from Santander to our Joint Account after Barclays closed my Account is fact WE are the target of Banks, Building Societies, Financial Ombudsman Services and Action Fraud.

My father had a stroke earlier this year and is bedbound and needs 24-hour care. Last month, two online payments from his Santander account were blocked. He was told to call the helpline and asked various security questions.
When he was unable to name a recent transaction, his account was locked and he was told he would have to go into the branch for his identity to be verified. He explained his situation but the agent was uninterested.
Staff at the branch told me their hands were tied and referred me back to the helpline, which, again, confirmed a branch visit was the only solution. It refused our suggestions that his solicitor verify him, that a video call be set up, or that bank staff visit his home.
I will therefore have to book a private ambulance and a carer, which will cost £395. A nurse assessment concluded a wheelchair would be too risky, so we will have to wheel him on a hospital trolley through the pedestrian precinct to the bank.
He is unable to access money to pay his care fees, or even buy his dog’s food.
DK, Chichester, West Sussex
I couldn’t quite believe what I was reading at first. I asked you to send me the quote for the ambulance hire to be sure I’d got the facts straight. I had. Santander expected your father to travel five miles to his nearest branch and present himself on a stretcher so they could check he was who he said he was.
To be clear, the bank had frozen his account legitimately. He was attempting two very large payments to new recipients and banks are expected to block and query transactions that seem out of character to protect customers from scams. Banks are held accountable if they fail to prevent fraud, and branch visits may be required to satisfy staff that a payment is genuine.
However, branch closures make them ever more inaccessible, and some customers are physically unable to make the journey. Banks therefore have to balance customer protection with customer need, and vulnerable customers should receive customised support.
My first question to you was whether you held lasting power of attorney (LPA) for your father and so could manage the account on his behalf. You do, and you say you had repeatedly mentioned this to bank staff, but were unaware that the LPA documents have to be registered individually with individual organisations. This process was never mentioned in your conversations with five different Santander agents.
The bank admits your father should have been offered another phone call to verify his identity and that, in some cases, staff can make visits to the customer’s home. It told me that a specialist support team and internal hub were available to employees to help with more complex cases. The agents who dealt with you don’t seem to have availed themselves of either.
The impasse was resolved when you registered your LPA, although it took another two weeks before online banking was fully restored.
Santander says: “A temporary block was placed on this account, as concerns were logged about unusual account activity, and in subsequent phone calls the customer’s identity couldn’t be fully confirmed. There were delays in getting this removed and alternative options should have been offered.
“We recognise we did not get the right balance between fraud prevention and tailoring a solution to the customer’s specific circumstances quickly enough, and we sincerely apologise. We have a range of support options in place for customers which we can tailor to their specific needs, and we will be reminding our teams about these.”
Your father has been offered £750 for the “inconvenience”.
The Financial Conduct Authority, the banking regulator, told me that under its new consumer duty rules, firms must respond flexibly to the needs of vulnerable customers without undermining safeguards.
According to the campaign group Fairer Finance, banks often struggle with this balancing act, mindful of the large payouts they face if they allow an account to be defrauded.
“Large organisations often rely on rigid systems and a ‘computer says no’ approach,” says its managing director, James Daley.
Customers with additional needs, or their representatives, should ensure that their bank register them as vulnerable to help ensure they are treated fairly.
Snapshot of GoPro’s stellar service…
I own a five-year-old GoPro camera, bought from a colleague who received it as a gift and never had proof of purchase. The bracket holding it to my bike’s handlebar broke, and I couldn’t find a replacement on the GoPro website, so asked for a callback. Within 30 minutes, a very helpful person asked me to email a photo of the broken part and agreed to send me, completely free, two replacements. These arrived a few days later. Stellar service.
