Amid outrage, the leadership of Charlemont High School in Linstead, St Catherine, is denying claims that students were sent home today because they wore ripped jeans to the institution during the hosting of what is known as Jersey Day.

“Strict instruction was given that they should not wear ripped jeans; this was communicated in writing, and it was announced over the PA system,” Legister asserted. “We are trying to maintain a standard at Charlemont and so we can’t just accept anything. We are trying to lift the standard… It’s a choice. If students decide to go with the Jersey Day activity, they go in the proper gear. If they don’t have the proper gear, they wear their uniform.”

So I was lying in bed trying to find supn to watch on the tv. Switched over from the Gay Wedding & found West African churches with Adi Adepetan on Chanel 4. It was an excellent programme & gave sum stats about the number of Black churches on the Old Kent Road. Guess more to the Square Mile than in JA? Imagine these churches are right in my front/back yard! Guess it’s time for me to get out & go serve Jah Almighty Father GOD who has brought me this far in Life! I have the inspiring Lady from Westmoreland to motivate me indeed? I am a Social Climber & I guess it’s time I make the most of my Opps since no1 will do it for me!

One of them said she did not see an issue with students wearing ripped jeans to the event if the rips are not revealing. She added that, if any bad had befallen the child allegedly sent home, the institution would be held responsible. In addition, the parent lamented that students who wore ripped jeans were left outside the school gate, exposed to the scorching sun for a protracted period.

SI was under the weather lying in bed on Tuesday when I had the chance to watch Horizon – Living with Autism by Professor Uta Frit. This programme was a real eye opener for me as it transported me back to the time I had my first encounter with getting an insight into autism. This was an article in the Nursery World which I kept to date. I have since gone on to do studies to enhance knowledge and expertise. I realised that because of lack of knowledge children with diverse and complex needs are not getting support via early intervention strategies. Growing up and struggling throughout life with what I call my Hidden Disability that is one of the primary reasons I am so passionate about inclusion. However, I have come to realised that my K/V/B have become like an Albatross around my Blinking Neck & more of a Hindrance to my well-being. Guess I will just have to Grin & Bear then?

So now I can say my breda ASHTER was way above his times in certain of his K/V/B? He used to talk about putting Dad out of his suffering if it was left for him to decide! Back then I am sure he nor I did not know about Euthanasia, but what he had in mind was it! That’s why when Satan come up against Me. I know for sure God never give any1 more than they can bear?

Amid outrage, the leadership of Charlemont High School in Linstead, St Catherine, is denying claims that students were sent home today because they wore ripped jeans to the institution during the hosting of what is known as Jersey Day.
As part of the event, students were allowed to wear either their uniform or certain casual outfits such as jeans.
Valdin Legister, vice principal, told The Beacon that the school had made it clear that ripped jeans would not be allowed. It makes no difference whether or not the rip reveals the students’ skin, he added.
“Strict instruction was given that they should not wear ripped jeans; this was communicated in writing and it was announced over the PA system,” Legister asserted. “We are trying to maintain a standard at Charlemont and so we can’t just accept anything. We are trying to lift the standard… It’s a choice. If students decide to go with the Jersey Day activity, they go in the proper gear. If they don’t have the proper gear, they wear their uniform.”
Legister added that he is not aware of any student being sent home due to the wearing of ripped jeans. “I can’t confirm that; I have no knowledge of that… A matter of fact, the students who even had on ripped jeans, after a while, I recorded their names and they were allowed into the school.”
Legister declined to state how many students wore ripped jeans, but he made it clear that parents are welcomed to bring their grouses to the attention of the school.
“I welcome parents to bring any issue they have; all they have to do is communicate with us,” Legister said.
