MERVELEE MYERS will apply my implicit and explicit knowledge and experiences as a person who experienced traumas as a result of DISABILITY and POVERTY to address this. Pages 141 to 147 must be read in its entirety. First and foremost let me mention meeting the Rev Rose Hudson-Wilkin at the H4W AGM in April 2014 after saying my final goodbyes to my mother on the 24th January 2014, 2 days before her 90th birthday. Equality Act, Public Sector Equality Duty and Proportionality Review. Tenant: Mrs Mervelee Myers Address: 16 Alma Grove SE1 5PY. Issue: Continuous ASB to neighbour and landlord. Action Subject to Consideration: We are seeking possession and injunction against this tenant due to the ongoing ASB towards both her neighbour and landlord. The Duty: A public authority should have due regard when when exercising its function to the need to: (a) Eliminate discrimination, harassment, victimisation and any other conduct which is prohibited by or under this Act; (b) Advance equality of opportunity between persons who share a relevant protected characteristic and persons who do not share it (which involves having due regard, in particular to the need to. (i) remove or minimise disadvantages suffered by persons who share a relevant protected characteristic that are connected to that characteristic; (ii) take steps to meet the needs of persons who share a relevant protected characteristic that are different from the needs of persons who do not share it; (iii) encourage persons who share a relevant protected characteristic to participate in public life or in any other activity in which participation by such persons is disproportionally low; and (c) Foster good relations between persons who share a relevant protected characteristic and those who do not share it (which involves having due regard, in particular, to the need to tackle prejudice and promote understanding). * Compliance with the PSED may involve treating some persons more favourably than others where this stops short of direct discrimination or indirect discrimination which is not a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim.
