Sorry, who is this?
This is MERVELEE MYERS re MyVision.org.uk. Not at home now. I will be in touch.
Oh thank you! I was worried about clicking but will have a listen!
Hi Mervelee I hope you are well? Guy said he has been in touch regarding the transfer, do let us know if you need any help we are more than happy to help with the transfer of my vision.org.uk. This would mean so much to us and mean we can move forward with our name change. Our communications person Molly will probably contact you as well as would love to be able to share your story and how we came into contact and the work you do. Take care, Mark
Hi Mark, trying to get the transfer done.
Hi Mervelee. I believe the transfer has all gone through now, thank you so much that’s very kind of you. My colleague Molly will be in touch and possibly do some articles together for our website and social media which would be really interesting. Mark
I need to discuss about some payment too. When I was contacted I was offered a Thousand US dollars. The only reason I am mentioning this, is I have not worked for 8 years. So if I can get some means of maybe getting recommendations by way of my Publications on your website to earn some money or even publish my credentials I will be grateful. Am sure we can sort it out when Molly contact me. Am glad I can help.
Umm sorryMervelee I was under the impression that as you didn’t go through go daddy you did not want payment. I’m really sorry I may have misunderstood. We would be happy to give you a contribution towards the Domain what do you think would be suitable? We can certainly advertise your work and promote what you are doing.
My Domain was not with Go Daddy but BT. As I said the money is not my main priority at the moment. Just that I have experience lots of problems left me in debt. But as I said I am willing to discuss the matter. No rush

I was planning to give it up.

Hi again Mervelee
It was good to chat just now.
As discussed, here’s the list of steps that you will need to go through:

  1. Contact BT help to instigate the transfer process. The quickest way to dop this is to use the “live chat” option on their hosting website (https://btbusiness.custhelp.com/app/categories/contact/c/5300). You will need to be logged into your BT account using your account details to do this and have any security details to hand as they will probably ask you for these.
  2. Alternatively phone them (but this could take a while for them to answer).
  3. Tell them “I want to transfer the ownership of the domain myvision.org.uk to Oxfordshire Association for the Blind”. If they need any further details about us, use guylawfull@oxeyes.org.uk as the contact email address, 07833 053656 as the contact number and Siteground as the new domain registrar.
  4. They may ask you to “disable WHOIS” and “unlock your domain” but should be able to take you through this process (this is likely to be unique to BT, so I can’t give any more help on this step).
  5. They should then provide an authorisation code to you – probably via email to the email address you use for the account. You will them need to confirm the transfer using the details they have supplied in their email (usually a code). This may be as simple are replying to the email, or you may need to go to your admin portal to enter a code. You shouldn’t need to do anything else after this, unless I have problems registering the domain with our host.
  6. I will then get an email (to guylawfull@oxeyes.org.uk) from them to state that transfer is available. I can then accept the transfer and get the domain set up on our hosting account.
I hope this helps you. As I said I will be around for most of this week, so if you need anything please call.
    Regards

    Many thanks Mervelee
I’m so sorry to hear of your problems with discrimination; it sounds awful; I wish you well for a full recovery.
Thanks for the info, It seems to give me what I need to check the procedure for transfer from your host (BT). I’ll get back to you with the process that we need to follow once I have checked it with BT (which I intend to do today).

    Hi Mervelee
    That’s excellent!
I’ll give you a call soon to discuss. In the meantime, could you let me know which organisation holds your registration for muvision.org.uk? Each registration organisation has a slightly different procedure for transferring domains, so I just want to check it out before I call you.

Hi Mervelee

I hope that you are well. Mark Upton has asked me to contact you regarding the transfer of the domain mycision.org.uk to the ownership of OAB.

To start off, so that we can find out how I can help, do you have the following information?:

  1. The name of the organisation that the domain is registered with.
  2. Your login details for your account with that organisation.
  3. The email address to which the domain is registered.

Please note that I’m not asking you to divulge this information to me, I’m just checking that you have access to it.

If you have the above, the process should be relatively straightforward.

I look forward to hearing from you and then starting the transfer process

Kind Regards

Guy
